Kym Knight

Kym Knight is a Director and consulting Arborist for Tree Environs, with experience in the Arboricultural profession as a technician and a consultant in Adelaide and across South Australia since 1980.

A summary of his qualifications includes:

  • Advanced Certificate of Amenity Horticulture. Brookway Park. SA (1984)
  • Advanced Certificate of Arboriculture. VCAH, Burnley Vic. - Dux (1994)
    • Awarded the Burnley prize for Arboriculture.
    • Awarded the Arbor Co prize for outstanding achievement in Arboriculture.
  • Advanced Diploma of Horticulture - Arboriculture. Hortus Australia (1999).
  • ISA Certified Arborist - International Society of Arboriculture. AU-0001. He has maintained Continuing Professional Development with this certification.
  • Tree Risk Assessment Qualification - International Society of Arboriculture (2013/2018)

Michael Palamountain

Michael is a director and consulting arborist for Tree Environs with experience in the field of Arboriculture as a technician and consultant in Adelaide and across South Australia since 1998. A summary of his qualifications includes:

  • Bachelor of Science (Botany and Ecology) – University of Sydney (1994)
  • Diploma of Horticulture (Arboriculture) (2005)
  • Certified Arborist (#AU – 0007A) – International Society of Arboriculture (2003). He has maintained Continuing Professional Development with this certification.
  • Registered consulting arborist with Arboriculture Australia. He has maintained Continuing Professional Development with this certification.
  • Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) - International Society of Arboriculture (2013/2018)
  • He climbed and pruned in excess of 1,000 mature trees and assessed in excess of 10,000 trees.

Dr Martin Ely

Martin is a landscape architect and arborist for Tree Environs with over 25 years of experience in planning and design for urban trees. He also has special expertise in the fields of sustainable landscape design, Water Sensitive Urban Design, structural soils and management of trees on development sites. During his career he has been involved in a wide range of urban infrastructure projects at a range of scales.

A summary of his qualifications includes:

  • Bachelor of Architecture, University of Adelaide 1991.
  • PhD, School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Adelaide 2010. ‘Integrating Trees into the Design of the City: Developing More Sustainable Practices for Planting Street Trees in Australian Cities’.
  • Member Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA).
  • Registered Landscape Architect.
  • Diploma in Horticulture (Arboriculture)
  • Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) - International Society of Arboriculture (2015)
